TMS Camping Trip
April 22, 2009 – 6:38 am
The week of Spring Break, we joined some of the other seminarian families for a camping trip at Pt. Mugu, a little south of Oxnard. It was a short excursion – we arrived Monday and left Tuesday night, since I had to work early on Wednesday morning. The camping site was near the coast, and ...read more...
A day in the life of…
April 21, 2009 – 6:00 am
Here are few random moments from everyday life… Watching the IMAX, 3-D film, Monsters vs. Aliens. Yes, we are goofballs, and proud of it! A little more sanctified pastime. We have been reading the biography of William Carey in the evenings. Carey, known as The Father of Modern Missions, lived in the 1700′s/1800′s. His life ...read more...
Pasadena Party
April 20, 2009 – 6:00 am
Some dear girlfriends and I headed out to downtown Pasadena to celebrate SunMi’s birthday and to enjoy the beautiful afternoon. We relished tasty ice cream while basking in the sunny day, and then sipped delicious gourmet tea at the Bird Pick. We managed to squeeze a little shopping in there as well. Good times with ...read more...
The Seminary Wives
April 19, 2009 – 7:09 am
Since September of last year, I have attended a weekly Wednesday meeting, informally known as “Sem Wives”. It’s a support group, of sorts, for the wives of the seminarians at TMS. I was hesitant to attend initially, for various reasons, but eventually decided that it might be beneficial for this new seminarian wife (let alone, ...read more...
The Happiest Place on Earth
April 18, 2009 – 7:14 pm
In March, we joined Nate’s brother and his family at Disneyland. Even though I was feeling a bit sick, and not able to go on any of the “fun” rides (restricted to pregnant ladies), we still had a marvelous time. It was such a pleasure to enjoy the experience with the kids (and Jason and ...read more...
Chinese Alliance Bible Church
April 14, 2009 – 7:33 pm
We had the privilege of joining the Chinese Alliance Bible Church in Duarte (about 45 minutes away) for an evening of worship and teaching. Nate also had the opportunity to share about Cambodia, and our upcoming plans regarding our service there. Several of the members had been to Cambodia on short-term missions trips, so it ...read more...
16 Weeks a.k.a. 4 months!
April 14, 2009 – 6:35 pm
As a non-pregnant person, I never understood why women counted in weeks, not months: Me to to pregnant woman: “When are you due?” Pregnant woman: “25 weeks” Me (in my mind): “25…25…4 weeks in a month…sooo…25/4 = 6 months + 1 week???”. Arrgh. Why don’t they just say it in months?” Well, now that I’m ...read more...
