Independence Day

We celebrated July 4th by attending the Morgan Hill Community Parade with Nate’s brother and his family. It was fun seeing the local creativity, as displayed in the various floats and other parade attractions.

Big Sur: Epoch Camping

On Friday, July 3rd, we joined Nate’s former Bible study group, Epoch, during their camping trip to Big Sur. We drove down for the day, enjoying the lovely California coast and the sweet fellowship of friends.

Guitar Lessons

I snuck into our little den to take this picture of Nate and his nephew, Liam. Nate has been teaching Liam guitar this summer. They end each session by playing Wii Lego Star Wars, further deepening the uncle-nephew bond.

Time with Friends

I was able to spend a few days with some good friends during one of my traveling breaks. Luann and I went to school together in 2nd and 3rd grade at San Jose Christian. We reconnected when I started working at my dad’s dental office, and she was a patient. Jess and I were room mates while I was living in Santa Cruz. Jenn, Alethea, and Christi are childhood friends from our former church. All of these ladies are dear to me!

David and Ashley’s Wedding

On June 26th, our friends David and Ashley were married in Saratoga. The reception was held at David’s Restaurant in Santa Clara, not to be confused with groom’s restaurant…hehe. WA: seattle

After treating ourselves to coffee in  Gig Harbor (where we saw Hillary’s name amongst the shop’s featured local musicians!), we headed for Bainbridge Island.  We spent several hours enjoying the lovely downtown, including a lunch overlooking the bay. We then took the ferry to Seattle, where we explored many of the city’s attractions.

After leaving the retreat, we traveled a few hours to Gig Harbor to visit my friends Hillary, Brian, and their daughter, Maddy. I met Hillary while working at Marie Callendars almost ten years ago (Wow! Time flies!). We were the self-named “Pie Sisters”, and spent many fun hours together, embellishing and selling pies.
