We’ve finished the “temporary” nursery, and with two weeks to spare until the due date (October 3rd). The inspiration came from our friends, Kevin and Jean, who painted an adorable monkey mural on their nursery wall. I found the Mod Pod Pop Monkey design at Babies “R” Us. We went with a gender neutral theme, in case there are any baby boys in our future. For furniture, we have Nate’s baby cradle, on loan from his parents, my grandmother’s old rocking chair, a family heirloom dresser as the changing table, and Johnny’s white dresser for the baby clothes etc. (The antique dresser smelled musty so I didn’t want to put baby stuff in there). It’s an eclectic, but fun assembly! More recently, I decided that the walls needed some artwork, so I busted out my old brushes and did a few acrylic paintings to match the Pop Monkey design. Even though we’ll only be here until January, it is so wonderful to have this temporary nursery. I am grateful to my parents for letting us take over yet another room…We are now living in three of the bedrooms! Thanks, Mom and Dad!
