Asian Hope is a ministry here in Cambodia that is near and dear to our hearts and the entire ACTION Cambodia team. They have several programs, including Logos International School (which you’ve probably heard us mention, especially since Jodi teaches there, and the Beck kids attend). Another program involves two Homes for At-risk Children—House of Hope (boys) and House of Faith (girls)—two homes that are filled with precious souls that we greatly love. Our family and the Lopez family live one street over from the boys, and the girls live next to the Beck family. It has been such a blessing to have these wonderful kids in our lives, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to watch them blossom into remarkable young adults.
We witnessed yet another huge accomplishment this past Saturday, as Tirot and Hocklee graduated from Logos. Tirot is a beautiful young woman, with a passion for dance, art and serving others. When I first met her in 2008 (a few months before Nate and I were married), I felt an immediate connection with her, since she shared my passion for soccer. Most recently, I had fun teaching her a few Latin dances to add to her repertoire. We had a ball, “tangoing” around my living room. While I don’t know Hocklee as well, I have been so impressed by his popularity with all of the kids in our neighborhood. They ADORE him and I constantly see him playing with the little ones. He always tries to make Ava laugh, which is no easy accomplishment! He’s seem to be great with animals too…a regular dog whisperer.
We’re so proud of these two high school graduates, as well as the several Asian Hope college graduates–Bora, Tirua, Ehud, Sopoan, Paht, and Lydia. We’re excited about their future–to watch as the Lord reveals His plans for their lives.
We love you guys, and we’ll be praying for you as you step forward into this new chapter!
