I suppose that most little ones love to dance, and our Ava is no exception. One of her favorite characters is Angelina Ballerina and one of her fondest activities is dancing around our living room (especially to Psalty from Grandpa and Grandma Wells). In light of this, I decided to have a ballerina theme for her third birthday. We invited a few of her little friends, with their moms, and had a lovely time of all-things ballerina…and pink!

Teaching the arabesque while trying to convince the girls that I know what I’m doing…ha ha.
Some of the sweet little ballerinas. Teaching first position–I used my hands to demonstrate the “V” shape of the feet…probably not the best idea because the girls followed my directions perfectly and made “V” shapes with their hands too…not a typical ballet position :). Ava insisted on standing next to me and teaching the girls too…the school years should be interesting…
Ava blowing out her candle. This is the first year that she accomplished it by herself.
The whole troupe. Such a wonderful group of lovely ladies.
The food spread. Thanks to my friend Pin Terest for the many creative and useful ideas! (Including the DYI pom poms) And thanks to my mom for bringing the ballerina napkins and stickers from the U.S.!
The Angelina strawberry cupcakes. Computer print-outs from a google search and frosting that has no chance against the Cambodian climate.
Literally called Pirouettes–cream-filled wafer sticks, marshmallow pops dipped in white chocolate and topped with pink-colored sugar with strawberry pretzel sticks, fresh watermelon in paper doilies placed in between two plastic cups.
The table setting. Each girl took a cup home as her party favor.
